Matt Schaub, Baltimore Ravens strike one-year deal

Matt Schaub is headed toward another fresh start.
The Baltimore Ravens have signed the signal-caller to a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports the deal is worth $3 million.
Schaub was being propped up as a long-term starter by Raidersdecision-makers a year ago, but he'll fill a more sensible role in Baltimore as Joe Flacco's backup. Flacco has been an iron man in his NFL career, starting every game since entering the league in 2008. Schaub will act as a veteran insurance policy with Keith Wenning and Bryn Renner the only other QBs on the roster.
The Baltimore Sun reported that the Ravens represented Schaub's only team visit. He also drew interest from the Falcons,Titans and Cowboys.
Schaub, 33, is now several years removed from his prime with the Texans, but he represents a depth chart upgrade for the Ravens.
