Marcell Dareus' week is turning around.
The Pro Bowl defensive tackle is back on the Buffalo Bills' active roster after passing a physical Thursday, per the official transaction wire.
Dareus failed his conditioning test Sunday and was subsequently placed on the non-football injury list. One day later, Dareus entered a substance abuse program in an attempt to get felony drug charges dismissed. Those charges stemmed from a May arrest for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Dareus' rocky offseason continued with a June arrest for reckless endangerment following an alleged drag racing incident. He appears in court on Sept. 9.
The 2011 No. 3 pick was excellent last season, posting 7.5 sacks. His impressive campaign landed him at No. 62 on NFL Network's Top 100 Players list.
His return to camp will be a welcome sight for a Bills team that hasn't made the playoffs since 1999.
